About The Instructor
Russell Dunn has more than forty years of professional experience including years spent as a former IRS Revenue Agent. He is a tenured Associate Professor of accounting and taxation at Broward College, a Florida state college in Davie, Florida. He is also the President and sole shareholder of Dunn & Co., CPAs, PA, an accounting firm in Hollywood, Florida which concentrates in IRS Controversy.Professor Dunn has been an adjunct professor of graduate and undergraduate courses in accounting and taxation at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, Florida as well as Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, Florida. He taught at FIU for approximately 17 years and at FAU for approximately
12 years. At FIU he was also a member of the committee that founded the Executive Master of Science degree in Taxation (EMST).
Professor Dunn has lectured for the Florida Institute of CPAs at both the local chapter level as well as at conferences. He has authored articles for the FICPA journal, Florida CPA Today. His lectures and his articles concentrate in IRS Controversy topics including Examination, Collections and Appeals matters.
Prior to his career in taxation, Professor Dunn held several professional accounting positions at various Wall Street entities including Merrill Lynch and the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY where he majored in Public Accounting. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Taxation from FIU. His CPA license is in Florida.
When Professor Dunn is not working on academic or other professional matters, he enjoys spending time with his family including his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. His other passion is sailing including competitive sailboat racing.
