On Jan. 26, in conjunction with our 2023 Hike the Hill advocacy event, FICPA State Tax Committee members held their annual Liaison Meeting with Florida Department of Revenue staff.
The week’s schedule allowed State Tax Committee members to attend the Liaison Meeting, as well as our Hike the Hill advocacy event, in support of the FICPA’s advocacy efforts at the Florida Capitol.
During the meeting, State Tax Committee members and DOR staff discussed several issues of importance to the FICPA and the profession.
Included in the meeting were opening remarks by Jim Zingale and FICPA President & CEO Shelly Weir; a Legislative Update by Zingale, FICPA Chief External Affairs Officer Justin Thames and Alec Yarger; a General Tax Administration Update by Maria Johnson, Robert DuCasse, Tara Talbott, Edward Philyaw and Lynn McElroy; an update from the Office of the General Counsel by Mark Hamilton, Nicole Santiago and Liam Lyon; a Technical Assistance and Resolution Update by Tammy Miller, Ann Rix, Brinton Hevey and Allan Fulton; and Open Discussion led by Mark Hamilton and Bethany Wester.
