With Florida's 2024 Legislative Session underway, two FICPA priority bills have been filed in the House and Senate, as the Governmental Affairs team tracks nearly 300 pieces of legislation.
FICPA continues to review and analyze all bills as they are filed and is currently tracking 158, or 16 percent, of all bills filed as potentially impacting the profession.

It was a busy week in Tallahassee as Florida House and Senate members returned to continue preparations leading up to the 2024 Legislative Session and stage a Special Session.
On Friday, at the request of Gov. Ron DeSantis, House Speaker Renner and Senate President Passidomo issued a joint proclamation announcing the Florida Legislature will meet for a Special Session, Nov. 6-9, 2023.
Alongside CEAO Jason Harrell, Henderson will serve as part of the FICPA’s in-house lobby team and will assist in all aspects of promoting and advancing FICPA’s legislative priorities and further strengthening the Institute’s relationships with legislators and their staff.
Several Committees met Tuesday and Wednesday, and your FICPA Advocacy Team monitored two meetings of interest to the profession – the Senate Committee on Banking and Insurance, and the Senate Appropriations Committee.
